All of the FSX models and the majority of the FS2004 models on this site were designed by Jean-Pierre Brisard.
JP, as he was known to us, emailed Barry Blaisdell in 2004 with a partially completed model of the CRJ 700 and asked if we would be interested in providing a panel for his model. JP’s obvious skills with FSDS and his willingness to work with us as part of a team soon led to him becoming a full time PAD designer.
When Barry retired from full time involvement with PAD due to poor health JP also set himself the task of designing panels and he taught himself XML programming to make gauges.
It is an indicator of his modesty and easy going character that in spite of him being indispensable to PAD, as the only team member with FSDS skills, he never imposed his preferences or wishes and insisted that he stayed in the background providing whatever models we asked him to make. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he enjoyed looking for solutions to tricky problems when they arose.
JP passed away on 20th July 2011, he was working on a new model until the day before. We were lucky to have him for those seven years as a colleague and as a friend and I know from the tributes paid to him that the wider flight simulator community also appreciated his talent.
